[Assam] Celebrating Christmas in DC - history

  Hi,
   
  I have been watching TV whole day yesterday learning about evidecne of Christ's life and his miracles - or the lack of historical evidence thereof -- it is a matter of faith as all TV channels said. Discovery Channel had great programs --and great scientifci analysis - wherewas History showed a blue eyed Jesus - though he was a middle eastern.
   
  There seems to be a misconception in India that everyone in US clebrates Christmas etc with great pomp and show. Poor people like me - who have only $100 to spare till my next paycheck (I paid my fisrt installment of student loan $350 this week) do not go out. We room mates just had some pizza the other day to celebrate the festival.
   
  It is the same as in Diwali in India - where people in lsums just sit huddled -esp the beggars.
   
  Hope some of us are having a great time.
