Amartya Sen seems to be good in arguing to. Didn't let me take his class on "Intro to Welfare Eco." - for a Pass/Fail credit - asking to to drop in from time to time if interested. I remember reading somewhere that some of his scholarly speeches needed a stadium for the audience -given the number of people wanting to hear him(?)

Arguments can also be called small-group-discussions - which lead to development of knowledge among those who participate - process technically called "co-construction of knowledge."
