That is why. Didn't you know? Why do you think Assam's standard
bearers, such as the AT, translates Oxomiya sounds to Sanskrit ones
first, before they transliterate them. And sounds they are unable
to,easily, that is, for example the 'xo' sound so unique to the
Assamese language, they either floow the Bengali or the Hindi
equivalents, no doubt because those are MORE legitimate than Oxomiya
sounds.
Is that so hard to process, really?
Give our good friends Manoj or Mohan a break, would ya? When have we
ever pronounced Xonkordeu as Xonkordeu. That is for illiterate
'gaonlia' types. The Oxomiya literati does it the way literate people
ought to: as Sankardeva!
