C'da,

 >Since WHEN has "reporting" of corrupt " teacher apptmt--" or what >have
you , become synonymous with "tackling" corruption Ram?

It wasn't just that. Ripun Bora (Education Minister) personally paid
surprise visits to a number of schools, and education offices. There had
been an investigation of irregular appts. Result: a number of teachers and
higher officials (Sptd and Dy.sptds) were arrested. A case has been
registered.

In the medical admissions case - same thing. There are presumably some
daktors practising (who ought not to have got admissions in the first place
--but for some ghoos and scams). They too are under investigation ans some
arrests have been made.

Then there is this pension scam.

>Hati-sur kori aage-aage jai, bengena-swork dhore kind

This time some hati-surs have also been nabbed. That I think is the
difference. I think it is a good first step. I usually have a pretty low
opinion of what the GOA usually does - but when it takes a positive step -
we ought to be able to recognize that too.

appreciate your applause, even if it is not very convincing

heheh!. Would some grovelling on my part help the situation? I am willing to
that if it will do the convincing:-)
