[Assam] Rediff: Postal error : tribal misses IIT dream

As my father has always said "There is many a slip
between the cup and the lip!!"

This guy missed his IIT interview (a mere formality)
becos of postal error. Why didn't he call up IIT-JEE
office or check the results online -easily available?

For getting my admission results from Harvard while in
India - I bombarded the admissionsoffice with emails
and phonecalls -of all univs I had applied to. I never
received the response from Stanford Univ though -- so
next year when I had applied agin for the PhD program
- I personally met the admissions office (I wasin US
by then) and even then it took more than tow emails
and phone calls to get an email response.

Same could happen to my work visa interview at US
consulate coming Thursday -Sep 14 ( I deliberately
avoided Sep 11 interview date option - the visa
officer would certainly be in a worse mood )
