[Assam] The Flexible(?)Constitution of India

The lawyers of India are a privileged class. Since the very beginning of  
British Raj  till the present day,  they have been able to maintain their 
position in society as political leaders,  as ministers, judges etc.  
During the British Raj  while  they were professionals, a large number of 
them fought for Independence of  India.(Gandhi, Jawaharlal, Patel, Bordoloi, 
Debeswar Sarmah  etc) They are still there. The  post-Independence lawyers do not 
seem to have a  great cause to die for; they are I  suppose now the 
beneficiaries of a  free country. 
I do not think 26 years before sovereignty was an issue in Assam though  
Assamese people have been  a discontent lot.
