Mizoram University has recognized the courses being conducted at the Counter
Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School, situated at Vairengte village on the
Mizoram-Assam border.
A press release issued by the school today said that the recognition would
take effect from June 2007, the beginning of the new training year.
The University has agreed to award diploma in low intensity conflict
management to all those officers who attend the eight week duration 'low
intensity conflict' course.
The press release termed the recognition of the Mizoram University, one of
the few central universities, as a great honour for the CIJW Shool.
CIJW School has become a centre of excellence for counter insurgency and
anti-terror tactics where foreign elite troops from different countries
including US, UK, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, France and Mongolia had undergone
specialized combat trainings.
