Noida, January 4: Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Shivpal
Singh Yadav on Thursday raised eyebrows by describing the grisly murders
of children in Noida as 'small and routine incidents'.

"Such small incidents keep happening," Shivpal said.

Shivpal, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav's brother, was in Nithari
village to distribute additional compensation of Rs three lakh each to
the parents of the victims.

The first UP Minister to have visited the area since the gruesome
killings came to light, Shivpal also pitched in for the police and said
that they are the ones who have unearthed the whole case.

"Acting on the directions of the government, the police have worked out
the case," he said, just a day after the government suspended two senior
police officials and sacked six officials for negligence in handling the
missing persons cases in the area.

On demands for a CBI probe, Yadav said, "The case has already been
unravelled. If it is handed over to CBI, there will only be a delay."

Actor and Congress leader Raza Murad, who also visited the area, said it
was not enough that police officials have been suspended and sacked for
negligence in probing the case of missing children in Nithari. "They
should also be booked for culpable homicide," the actor said.
