Use of non-conventional energy sources stressed

SILAPATHAR, June 6 A workshop on National Green Corps was held recently at Akajan High School at Akajan, Silapathar which was organised by DIMC (NGC), Dhemaji.
Inaugurating the workshop, Dilip Neog, president of Dhemaji unit Assam Science Society said that increase of Carbon Dioxide (Co2 ) in the earths atmosphere has posed a threat to the eco-system. So he urged the people to use non-conventional energy sources to minimise pollution.
Bhanjit Bhatta, Deptt of Zoology, Dhemaji College focused on the affect of Global Warming and its impact on environment. He also expressed the effective power of Bedai Tita, ( a kind of local climber) for the Malaria disease. Pradip Saikia, lecturer of Chemistry, Dhemaji College as resource person delineated on health awareness.
Dr Bhudin Baruah, co-ordinator of Dhemaji District National Green Corps, declared in the meeting that around 44 schools of Sissiborgaon block and Murkongselek Block (Jonai) would be given financial help to create environmental awareness among the school children. He asked the teachers of high school for forming Environmental Community Organisation (ECO) clubs in the schools.
The workshop was conducted by Bhoben Deori, Asstt School Inspector of Dhemaji, where 44 high school teachers of Sissiborgaon block and Murkongselek block (Jonai) represented the workshop.
