Dibrugarh students fare well in IIT-JEE entrance exam

DIBRUGARH, June 8: It was a proud moment for Dibrugarh when the results of IIT-JEE of this year were declared, for three students of two schools here had done well in the entrance exam.
Reecha Bharali, a student of Vivekanda Kendriya Vidyalaya of Dibrugarh, is all set to go for counselling at IIT Guwahati on July 6. She had passed her twelfth (CBSE) with 85.4 per cent. Reechas parents, Dr Jyoti Koch Deori and Bhisma Deori, work in Arunachal Pradesh. When contacted, Reecha said that her preparations for twelfth exam had been enough to succeed in IIT-JEE.
Dipankar Gogoi, the student of Salt Brook Academy who was placed in the 10th position in the HSSLC (Science) exam this year, has managed to find a place in the extended merit list.
He is the son of Junu Gogoi and Chiranjeet Gogoi, who works in the Irrigation Department, of Nagaon. While talking to The Sentinel, Dipankar said that he had qualified for Indian Institute of Science and Space Technology (IISST) and Indian Institute of Science and Education Research (IISER).
It was another student of Salt Brook Academy who found a place in the extended merit list. Sourav Jyoti Boruah, the son of Babu Ram Boruah and Shila Boruah of Padum Nagar here, expressed his regret that he failed to get in the IITs.
This student had passed his twelfth with 85.4 per cent. Like his friend, Dipankar, he will be able to seek admission in IISST and IISER. After his tenth, Sourav set himself the target of cracking the IIT-JEE. Apart from his schoolbooks, he took a correspondence course from Brilliant Tutorials besides poring over some help books in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
