[Assam] Is it a disinformation ploy to make light of a vital ULFA cause giving the ultimatum over the phone? If Commodore P.Neog’s order is a fact, why the medias normally vocal against illegal economic Bangladeshis swamping Assam, are not reporting it?

Guwahati, June 23: Sensation prevails in state political circle today after
banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) has set a deadline of one
month for illegal migrants from Bangladesh to leave Assam.

The Commander of outfit's 28 Battalion, Prabal Neog in a telephonic message
to a section of media warned the illegal migrants of dire consequences if
they fail to comply with the order.

The outfit also warned the chief of AUDF Badruddin Ajmal to stop play with
the sentiment of Assamese people and leave the state within 15 days.

Meanwhile, a bomb exploded near a crowded bus stand in Guwahati on Saturday,
killing six people hours before the opening of an international athletics
meet and first minister from a foreign country sets foot in Assam.

More than 200 athletes and officials from 19 Asian countries have gathered
in Guwahati to participate in a grand prix whereas commerce minister from
Thailand arrives in the city with a big entourage of businessmen.

The explosion came amidst extensive security arrangement in view of the
international sports meet and Ambubachi Mela (fair) at Kamakhya Temple where
more than eight lakh devotees are expected to visit in the next four days.

City was jolted out of early morning sleep as a powerful bomb ripped apart
the busy Machkhowa area at around 7:30 killing four on the spot and another
on the way to the hospital. Another 25 year old youth Imanul Hussain
succumbed to his injuries at GMCH this evening. The timed bomb was planted
on a bicycle parked in front of a tea stall owned by one Rafique Ahmed who
was killed in the blast along with seven-year-old Safique Ali.

The three others killed in the blast were identified as Anisha Begum (18
months), Sanjib Ali (25) and Hasem Ali (17).

State Police Director General R N Mathur, who rushed to the spot after the
blast took place, informed that though the needle of suspicion pointed
towards the banned ULFA, an inquiry was being instituted to ascertain the
identity of real culprits.
