Dear Community Members,
            
          The Web site for Assam 2007 is up and
running. Please visit the website at

http://www.assam2007.com/ for more details on hotel,
registrations, events and site seeing information.

This site is being updated constantly as we go along.

     Some members of our community specially who are
new to North America may be confused
about Assam Convention 2007 and Assam 2007. Assam
Convention 2007 is being held in Boston, MA 
and sponsored by Assam Association of North America
(AANA) and Assam 2007 is being held in Laurel
, Maryland. Assam 2007, though supported by Assam
Society of America(ASA), is being organized by a
group of people who currently 
do not belong to either association. You may also ask
why two Assamese get-togethers,  that too on same
dates ? 
I myself could not explain and justify this to my
kids. They very much wanted to go to Boston. We think
we do not need two getherings for a community of less
than 1000 families in North America.

    Having said that we request and encourage you all
to attend either one depending on your convenience and
choice 
and celebrate Assam's culture and heritage. In future,
with the  blessings of senior members of our
community, 
we hope we will be able to organize a single
get-together supported by both organizations.
