[Assam] [WaterWatch] Nobel Peace prize to Al Gore and Pachauri

Dr Sanjay Jain of Delhi School of Economics - our Marketing professor at Hindu Institute of Management, Sonipat told us a story about Indian frogs - this debate reminds me of that.

The joke is that someone wanted to exports live frogs from India to China ( where frogs' legas are supposed to be delicacies) . The expert packagers just put them in small plastic containers and put them on board.  Someone reminded them "Hey!! you forgot to put the lid -- they will all jump out."   "Oh no!!  they want," repied the Indian frog handlers , "They are Indian frogs , the moment one tries to jump out towards freedom and glory --others will pull it down,, they are Indian frogs!!!"

      Devashis is very right that Nobel Peace Prize is political, but not always. Take the choice  of Rev Tutu or Rigoberta Menchu. But certainly when Jimmy Carter was chosen, disregarding the fact that he gave orders to the entry of Talibans to Afghanistan in 1979 - six months before the Soviet Army marched into the same country, we shouldn't lament that Gandhiji didn't get it. Had the Mahatma got the prize, the Oslo committee for peace prize would have been eternally homoured. And why not the three founders of non-aligned movement - Nehru, Tito and Nasser?
