11 Bdeshis detected, handed over to police

Dibrugarh, Sept 1: All Assam Students Union (AASU) and Asom Sena have detected 11 suspected citizens from various parts of the town and later handed them over to the police.
According to sources, AASU and Asom Sena activists headed by their leaders Mitul Bhuyan and Tapan Chetia respectively detected the suspected Bangladeshi nationals who were engaged in the road repairing work near Dibrugarh Railway Station. The students body alleged that the contractors Sarabjit Sonowal and Rajesh Shah had engaged those suspected foreign nationals in the road repairing work.
Expressing serious concern over engaging such suspected foreign nationals in road repairing works, the AASU and Unnati Sabha had forced the contractors to stop work. Moreover, the youth leaders alleged that both the contractors had engaged Abul Ali(13), Noor Alam(16), and Saidul Ali(14) in violation of child labours act.
The suspected foreign nationals, Rashida Begum, Begum, Aksifa Begum, Rahima Khatoon, Kurmuj Ali, Imon Ali, Sahidur Ali, Sidiqui Ali and Khusur Sheikh along with Abdul Ali, Noor Alam and Saidul Ali were later handed over to the police. All suspected foreign nationals have claimed that they hailed from Kharupatia. Police interrogation is on.
