I feel proud to be able to forward this flyer on behalf of the most
outstanding pioneers, Indira and Menaka, of Sattriya dance which is
recognized as the 8th school of Classical Indian Dance. This is the first
time that these performances have been organized at this grand scale and no
doubt, they will give a very positive exposure to Sattriya Dance in England
that it rightly deserves.  Every Assamese should feel elated that a unique
beautiful dance from Assam has received such recognition.

Indira P.P. Bora and Menaka P.P. Bora, two generations of internationally
acclaimed Indian classical dancers and choreographers, will be presenting an
exclusive series of SATTRIYA DANCE REPERTOIRE AND CULTURE in both historical
and contemporary contexts at mainstream British dance venues, museums and
universities in 5 major cities from mid sept to mid-oct 07...live
performances, lectures and workshops...this will focus on Sri Sankaradeva's
vision and Assamese classical performing arts in both historical and
contemporary contexts at the mainstream British arts scenes supported by
several key arts promoters/organizations in the UK.

This is the fist time SATTRIYA DANCES OF ASSAM, the 8th classical dance of
