This is from Facebook -a popular network created by a college student at Harvard who graduated last year. These schools (in India etc) have the network and then info is power - so help build the network so others can also benefit.

I checked the weather for you quite chilly in the mornings 19 degrees celcius in Boston. your SAT scores are really good.!!
I am sure your Harvard grades would be similar level too.
Best wishes.

at 2:49amOh, that's not a cause for worry. I've been in debating for hell long, and have a reasonably clear speech. I've spoken in international meets, so the accent's not a problem. While I don't have an American accent, I can be reasonably proud of me speaking skills, no problem with clarity...My flight jumps at 15 minutes past midnight, that's a nice coincidence about the dates, haha. Thanks...

its a coincidence but it seems you are catching the flight to Harvard the same date as I did three years ago (neary) - I got inside the IGI airpot on Sep 3rd night and boarded the flight at 4am Sep 4th

Happy and safe journey.

it seems you are still in India - I saw some wall post on your profile -- you may want to get a wind cheater atleast for the chilly mornings -- check the weather on www.timeanddate.com or www.weather.com for boston . For speaking just speak slower - we Indians tend to speak English too fast - perhaps to show that we can indeed speak in English. Americans speak more slowly - it is still relative though. Try to speak like the news readers - each syllable clearly -- I have improved a lot - I teach verbal and Math to American students - from some of the best schools in US - so faced the cultural challenge as well.

My flight to Harvard was my first plane flight ever but I guess it wont be as challenging for you. Although I didn't study at the college I spent most of my time at undergrad libraries and worked with Harvard Dorm Crew and Widener library .
What was your SAT score and other achievement if I may ask - you may email me (as message) if you wish.

at 2:14amWell, it is a trend to apply abroad, but Harvard's VERY stingy in admissions, this year there are only two people from India(the other guy's from Kolkata), any other "Indians" are US citizens, which basically means they're Americans far as admission is concerned...I think Harv's a lot more open about grad students..millions of folks here have US MBA degrees..

just out of curiosity - how many students from India are in your 2011 batch? Is it a growing trend for undergrad from Indian metros. These days I am staying in Fairfax, Virginia just outside Washington DC and about 100 Indian students arrived here in Aug and staying in the same apartment complex as me all here for grad school in computers at www.gmu.edu

Dear Siddhant,

Nice to see you at Harvard. I recall meeting Mrs Chona the Delhi Public School RK Puram principal in 1991 hoping to learn from DPS RKP. Glad to meet a grad from that school now at Harvard College.

Best.
