Umesh,
I read and re-read the link you sent. The court seems to think that using
the words "Indian or National" in the name would basically mislead or
confuse it with the IIT or IIM.
When you apply for an assumed name (or a DBA) in the US, you will also have
to go thru what they call a name search to see if your business name
conflicts or is similar to some other name. For instance, you can't have a
name like "Disney Productions".

I am having a tough time understanding how you come to the conclusion as
above. What has the Court's decision got to do with second class citizens or
whatever?
You know, shock-jockeys in the US say some of the most outrageous things -
take a wild guess why they would do so! :)
