Dear Umesh,
Surely al the colleges of Assam are of Govt and once they was good.Blame wil go to long Assam agitation/ULFA/Bodoland agitations and 10 urs of AGP rule to ruin whole system of Assam.
Coton college/Diphu college of Karbi anglong are the 2 major English medium colleges. Then comes Darrang College,Tezpur,Gaurisagar college, JB college Jorhat, B Baruah college, GHY comerce college,Arya vidyapeeth GHY,Pragjyotish college GHY are still good and producing god students.Hope things could be projected to concerned principals.
I myself studied from Mangaldai college, those days it was also to good. Now I dnt know.In our times, we forced profesors to take early morning clas and evening classess to complete the good class. That time I had geography (hons) and being from HSSLC, out of all we only 3 being from HSSLC, was more keen for the classess. Now times changed....

By TAMAR LEWIN
Berea College, which charges no tuition and only accepts applicants from
low-income families, provides an unusual perspective on how universities should
handle endowments.
