[Assam] Nallie: Massacre of journalism

Dear Friend,
  Now you got the mentality of Indian media on NE or Assam...When I filed complaint to the President of India,PM,National Commission for Women, I merely got good support from our own people.For the same reason of anti Assam or Anti North east atitude I did filed the allegations against media/News papers under criminal code and violation of rules that are punishable separately.Someone need to stand and ask for a full stop of such media activities.Either we need to be like Raj thackaray to chase away all the media from NE.Each and every step is a wrong message to the rest of the world.of course our own people are also selling all for money!!

Nitin A Gokhale has done an excellent job while revisiting Nellie ( infamous
for 1983 massacre) recently (?) to report the consequences of the carnage
and its implication on today's changing demographic pattern in the state. He
has analyzed the situation after his visit to the location and hints are
there about the 'ground realty today'. I read his story on the portal of
NDTV (

As an ardent reader I used to read the portal of Tehelka and found Nitin's
story written after his visit to Nellie, before July 2005. He met the same
persons in both the occasions and unbelievably the same situation was
reenacted (by the omnipotent!) with an interval of almost three years.

Interestingly enough, Nitin met the same Nuruddin, (in his language 'the
member of the Anchalik Parishad') in both his visits in the same place and
same position. Whether Nitin enquires about Nuruddin's position after the
Panchyat election held in Assam most recently ?

The insincere journalist, who doesnot care the authenticity of a quote,
can inflame a society by reporting on such a sensitive issue.

The truth is that 80% of his write up in Tehelka (
http://www.tehelka.com/story_main13.asp?filename=Ne070205The_simple.asp) is
simply copied and pasted for the news portal, run by a revered and senior
journalist (Mr Roy) of the country.

This is an example of the sincerity of the so-called think tank, who boasts
of his experience of covering Northeast for more than two decades!
