anyone from Assam or rest of Indian govt ministries interested?
I have attended one of these programs for Free - as a graduating student whose classmates were part of the organizing body -- really useful. I learned quite a few new things - such as how to rank organizations, how Scottish education system is going for ISO 9000 certification for Total Quality Management etc.

Subject: [Iepgraduates-list] 2008 Quality in Education Seminar at HGSE
Dear Alum:
As a Harvard graduate, you know first-hand the quality of teaching and
learning at HGSE. Our faculty works on the cutting edge of education
research, policy, and practice, and reflects a commitment to the highest
teaching standards. Each summer, HGSE extends its reach beyond the
traditional classroom and offers a variety of professional development
programs. I want to share information about one of these programs with
you--Policy Analysis and Planning for Improving Quality in Education
Systems--taking place at HGSE from May 19â31.
The program provides an opportunity for international educational leaders
to look broadly at the challenges of improving quality in education systems
while exploring the many dimensions of quality with colleagues from around
the world. Session topics include systems thinking for educators, design
and development of policy analysis and planning models, monitoring and
evaluation systems, education decision support, and management information
systems.
Institute faculty includes HGSE professors and leading practitioners in the
field:
* James Honan, Senior Lecturer on Education, HGSE
* Haiyan Hua, Lecturer on Education, HGSE
* Kim Marshall, Leadership Coach, New Leaders for New Schools
* Noel McGinn, Professor Emeritus of Education, HGSE
* Basan Nembirkow, Superintendent of Schools, Brockton, MA
* John Portz, Professor, Political Science Department, Northeastern
University
* Fernando Reimers, Professor of International Education, Director,
International Education Policy Program, HGSE
* Paul Reville, Director, Education Policy and Management Program, HGSE
* Eleonora Villegas-Reimers, Dean of Education and Child Life; Associate
Professor, Wheelock College
* Joseph Zolner, Director, Harvard Institutes for Higher Education, HGSE
We encourage ministries of education, as well as donor and lending
agencies, to send teams of three or four participants. Please share this
information with any colleagues who may be interested. The application
deadline has been extended to March 28, 2008. For more information, visit
www.gse.harvard.edu/ppe or contact Jason Rabin, Enrollment Coordinator, at
jason_rabin at gse.harvard.edu or 800.545.1849.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tom Cassidy
