Canada keen to invest in State

GUWAHATI, March 20 Investors from Canada are keen on investing in health and oil sectors in Assam, said the Canadian High Commissioner to India, David M Malone in a meeting with Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today. An official release said that the Canadian High Commissioner, accompanied by Political Adviser Andrian Norfolk today met the Chief Minister at his official residence this morning to discuss various issues relating to possibility of Canadian investment in Assam and said that a number of Canadian companies would like to invest in the State. Gogoi gave a detailed account of the prospects of investments in Assam in various sectors like coal, energy, gas based projects etc and requested the High Commissioner play a positive role in this regard.
The Chief Minister also assured that in the interest of development of Assam, the State Government would extend all possible help to the investors.
