[Assam] Bihu in Bangla Desh

What you perhaps missed in the attachment sent by Mr Kar is that this article talks about the Bihu celebration by people such as Chakma, Tripuri etc who inhabit the highlands of Chitagong
 
So not only the Assamese immigrants of Muslim background from upper Assam but also the natives of the Chitagong celebrate Bihu in Bangladesh.  Although you will find a distinct difference between the 2 forms of bihu.

Dear Mr Kar,

The people in Bangladesh who celebrate Bihu are of Assamese origin. They are Assamese Muslims who had migrated to the then East Pakistan mainly from Upper Assam during Partition in 1947. One of the most famous representatives of the community is Moqsoodul Haque, popularly known as Mac Haque, who is one of the biggest singers of Bangladesh. The community has been holding on to their Assamese identity all these years, celebrating Bihu, women wearing Mekhela Sador, and so on, though I don't know how much the 3rd or 4th generation of the community are acquainted with their origins.
