Khagen Mahanta-Archana Mahanta will attend GPC programme 
 
Guwahati: Eminent singers Khagen Mahanta and Archana Mahanta will attend the 
‘Guest of the Month’ programme of Guwahati Press Club on Sunday (September 5). 
It will begin at 1 pm. During the interactive session the illustrious couple 
will speak about some memorable incidents in their cultural journey to the 
member-journalists of the press club.
Khagen Mahanta, winner of Sangeet Natak Academy award for folk and traditional 
music in 1992 also directed music for Assamese films like Meghamukhi, Moinajan, 
Junj and Nishi Ujagar.  As a playback singer, Mahanta with his wife rendered 
voice in more than 20 Assamese movies.
