On every republic day, the president of India gives the civilian award to an individual who gets the achievement, shows excellence, and dedicated their life to their respective fields. Bharat Ratna Award

On january 2, 1954 Indian government Instituted the Highest civilian award Bharat Ratna. This award is given to the individuals for their extraordinary performance or exceptional service in their respective fields. Before 2011 Bharat ratna award was limited in some categories like arts, literature, science, and public services. In december 2011 Indian government expanded the categories to  “any field of human endeavour”. The awarded individual received a  Sanad (certificate) signed by the President and a peepal leaf-shaped medallion. The prime minister of India can recommend three nominations to the president of india for the Bharat ratna award. The first awarded individuals  of the Bharat Ratna were: C. Rajagopalachari,  Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and  C. V. Raman. C. Rajagopalachari was  the last Governor-General of the Dominion of India and the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was second President and the first Vice President of India and Nobel Prize Laureate and Physicist C. V. Raman. First The Bharat Ratna Award was honoured in 1954. The latest Bharat ratna award announced by the president of India On 25 January 2019, to social activist Nanaji Deshmukh (posthumously), singer-music director Bhupen Hazarika (posthumously) and to the former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.

Padma Vibhushan award

After Bharat Ratna Padma Vibhushan is the second highest civilian award in india. At the same time On january 2, 1954 Indian government Instituted the second Highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan. For their “exceptional and distinguished service” this Padma Vibhushan award given to All individual without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex. including government servants working with PSUs, except doctors and scientists, are not eligible for Padma Vibhushan award. The first Padma Vibhushan award was given in 1954 and the recipients were Satyendra Nath Bose for Science & Engineering, Nand Lal Bose – Arts, Zakir Hussain – Public Affairs, Balasaheb Gangadhar Kher – Public Affairs, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck – Public Affairs, and V. Padma Bhushan Award

After Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award in india. Padma Bhushan is given without any distinction to all the individuals for their distinguished service in any field excluding those working with the public sector undertakings. As of 2020, padmaj bhushan was given to 1270 individuals. This award was announced every year on 26 January, the Republic Day of India. In 1954 the first Padma bhushan award was given to twenty-three recipients.

On 2 January 1954 Padma Shri Award was Instituted By the government of india. After Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri is the third highest civilian award in india. Padma Shri was given for “distinguished contribution in arts, education, industry, literature, science, acting, medicine, social service and public affairs.
